One of the pleasures of doing the Seasonal Area pages is sitting inside on a wet April day wondering why the leaves have come on the trees so late and when spring is supposed to be starting.

The reason why this is a pleasure is because of the innate reassurance involved in digging out a picture from some years previously and remembering that in 2013 April was warm, sunny and consistently devoid of leaves.

Thus reassured, the pictures of the Kennet & Avon Canal in the Midgham area (three or four miles east of Newbury, and rather near the former airbase at Greenham Common) can be filed away again and plans put in hand for the May Seasonal Area, which will hopefully be greener and springier.
